Middle School students in the Fuel For Success Program have participated in various versions of a balloon car competition since 2010. Students have built cars out of everyday household items and the cars have been powered by many sources. Students work individually and in small groups to measure the distance and speed of the cars, which ties the activity into State Standards for physical science.
